To change the root password for the database in linux you use mysqladmin utility. The parameters you need to pass are:

-u root the username used for logging in. In this case we want to be root obviously

-p'currentPassword' the password for logging in. Notice there are no space between p and quote.

password newPassword define the new password.

So for example:

mysqladmin -u root -p'myoldpassword' password mynewpassword

Outlook 2007 certificate install

A time ago a wrote how to solve the certificate issue in Outlook 2010 . I was explaining how to set up Outlook 2010 with your own POP3 server in case you are using SSL authentication with self made certificate.

While in Outlook 2010 you just needed to install your certificate, on Outlook 2007 the process for adding certificate is bit more complex so follow these steps to add your own created certificate to trusted publishers on windows machine.

Start->run, or +R

type "mmc" and hit enter

On opened window choose File->Add/Remove Snap-In...

From Availbale Snap-Ins select Certificates and click Add

In new window choose Computer Account, press next

Select Local computer: (the computer this console is running on)

Click Finish, and click Ok

Expand the folder Colsole Root->Certificates->Trusted root certification

Right click on Certificiates, select All Tasks->import and now you need to import your SSL certificate.

The easiest way to get your certificates is by saving it from the dialogue Outlook warns you about the invalid certificate. Select View certificate and save it in the file to use in import

Ok, sometimes you get an *.ai file to convert it to the HTML and there the fonts are set to the points, but you rather would use pixels.

Open file manager window from console

Some times you work in console, and need to open current path in file manager window.

You can open any window and then navigate to location that is in your console path, or you can simply type

xdg-open . &

The "." means that you pass the current location to the command "xdg-open", and appending the "&" sign at the end will able you to detach xdg-open command from the console, so you still can contine to work on the console and keep the file manager window opened.

Adding Gnome 3 to Ubuntu 11.04

This works for Ubuntu 11.04.

To install Gnome 3 on Ubuntu 11.04 you basically do
sudo apt-get install gnome-shell

and then switch to it doing
gnome-shell --replace

If after first command you get an error about unmet dependencies like gir1.2-atk-1.0 you might open Ubuntu Software Center and click Edit->Software Sources... and add "ppa:gnome3-team/gnome3".

Or do it via terminal by running
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:gnome3-team/gnome3
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get dist-upgrade

After that re-run the first command

Actually it is funny, that I added the vocal only after I finished the track and fine tuned all the effects. While playing my finished track I clicked on vocals from song Raquel-You are the one, and surprisingly the vocals sounded so good, that I added them.
There are many tunes outside there using these vocals, because they come with the default package.

*Update Removed the voice, because it sounded messy after all.

Well this has been annoying, so I will make a post as a reminder for myself.
When connecting to mailserver with outlook through SSL you might get an error saying:

The server you are connected to is using a security certificare that could not be verified.

A certificate chain processed, but terminated in a root certificate which is not trusted by the trust provider.

Do you want to continue using this server?

And then question, whether or not you want to install the certificate. And even if you install the certificate, nothing changes. Next time the same warning pops up.

This might be caused by several reasons, but mine was simple. Just make sure, that your POP3 server name is *exactly* the same as the server name the certificate is issued to. If in your configuration you type in IP, it will not work, because Outlook will think, that this is different server.

When talking with someone about your dreams. Have you ever claimed that you don't know for sure what particular detail was about in your dream. For example, if dream is about travelling then you could say - "I don't know why, but we went back home". If you ever told someone that you do not know about the details in your dream, then you have lied at least for one time in your life (:.

This is because, we know exactly all the meanings, reasons and specific details in our dreams. The reason why we say - I don't know, can be various. Maybe the reason doesn't make much sense and when recalling your dream you suddenly feel confused and deny the reason. Like in the travelling dream example reason could be "We went home, because I needed to take a bath". Other reason might be because you feel ashamed for what you did in the dream and don't want to tell anybody.

I think, many of us associate dreaming a dream with watching a movie. In movies there almost always is plot. Structure of the movie. Strong reasons and dependencies on information that has been presented before. What is not the case in dreams. If you associate your dreams with watching a movie then there is no surprise that you feel confused about disorder in your dream.

It is interesting, that humans perceive their own dreams with intimacy, and we think that no one knows anything about our inner world. Well... next time some one says to you - "I don't know why I was acting the way I did in my dream", you tease them and say - Oh, common, of course you do (:. Because, they do!

I you now are trying to remember your last dream this night, to conclude wether I am right or not, than chances are that you can not remember your dream. The interesting thing with the dreams is that you can remember your dream only few seconds after you wakeup. Try this. Put something unusual on your cell phone or alarm clock, or what ever it is what wakes you up in the morning, to serve as a reminder to recall your dream right when you wake up.

In this article I would like to talk about making business and earning a money. I am going to present new perspective on business making. It is good to have different perspectives in your mind while working on things, because different perspectives always work synergistic, what is good, of course.

Business making in traditional sense is starting with the idea and bringing together people and encouraging them to do things as you planed. In return providing them salary. The result of all your and your workers' actions is some kind of product or service, you are then trying to sell to someone who finds your product or service useful.

Basically in every business case you are having some kind of good, you are then trying to exchange for money. But what is money in the first place? Money is estimation for the good. With money, you can compare and value otherwise incomparable things.

Now, let's look at business making in a little different perspective. What if instead of exchanging your goods for money, you would try to get valuable goods from other people right away. It might be information. It might be opinion. It might be idea. It might be art work. You name it, what can it be. Basically anything that has an value attached to it. It is important to have good underlying idea - how and why people would be willing to contribute. And it is important, to get them excited and motivated. And most important is knowing - what you will do with the good you get. May be you can exchange it for money right away or maybe you can use obtained goods to build something even more valuable.

The pros of this approach is that it is easier to get value from people other than money. Most of people are very inert of giving money away. They tend to calculate their expenses, and get rid of everything that costs money, and they don't really need. But getting different kind of value most of time is much easier. You don't really need money, per se. You need to have valuable things, right?

I hope, knowing this perspective, you will let you make better decision one day.

Highest possible temperature.

In this article we will discuss the question "What is the highest temperature possible?"

You might already know what is the lowest possible temperature. It is 0 degrees per Kelvin, or "absolute zero" as physic engineers usually call it. If looking at molecular level, than temperature is nothing more than molecule movement speed. In gases and liquids molecules or atoms are in constant movement. The higher temperature substance has, the faster molecules move in it.

When any substance temperature goes down to absolute zero, it means, that all molecules in substance do not move in respect to each other. In europe we use Celsius temperature scale, so when converting 0 degrees Kelvin to celsius it is -273.15C. Allrighty, that is freaking cold.

Now lets try to figure out - what is the maximum temperature possible.

It turns out that this question needs more constraints applied to it before question can be answered. First we will assume that molecules in substance are moving with almost speed of light (299 792 458 m / s). That is because the speed of light is maximum available speed in our universe. Nothing can move faster than that. Also we will need to choose particular chemical element that we will use, because temperature is proportional to atom mass. The heavier element, the highest temperatures it can reach. It means, for example, that if hydrogen (H) atoms, that are very light, move at 300 m/s, it will have lower temperature than Mercury (Hg) atoms moving in the same speed, because Hg atoms are much heavier. Ok, here is the formula we will use to calculate the maximum possible temperature. This formula ties together molecular speed with temperature.

m - one molecule mass

v - avarage molecule speed

k - Boltzmans constant

T - temperature

I looked in the periodic table, and finally decided to choose element lead (Pb), because it is last stable element in periodic table. Everything heavier than Pb, is radioactive and will decay with the time. So, let it be lead. The molmass for lead is 207.2 grams per mole. For those who have forgot what molmass is - just a quick note. Molmass is the mass expressed in weight units, such as grams or kilograms for 6.0224179×10²³molecules.

Lets do some calculations now:

So the final answer is that maximum possible temperature for Lead is approx 75 milion degrees Kelvin. And that is quit plausable. Because temperature at sun, that consists of Hydrogen and Helium, core is 15 milion degrees.

This result of course is theoretical, because if there were lead with such a high temperature, atoms would simply collide and form different elements right away. Also I need to admit, that lead in such a high temperature would be in plasma state, which means, that there would not be regular Lead atoms, bet lead nucleus with bunch of electrons floating around.

The information written above can not be used in any scientific document, or referenced in any work that requires respectable sources. I do not possess any degree of physics and these calculations I do just for fun.

Restore Search Companion after instant search install

In windows XP, when you install instant search, it automatically changes your explorer default search companion to Windows Desktop Search pane. Windows desktop search pane has always a little link on the bottom called "click here to use search companion", with a little doggy down there (; that will bring up the default search pane. However it might get very annoying pretty quickly and also, since it will bring up a new window, the browsing history will be gone.

So long story short, If you want to restore default search, simply start run "regedit" and change this value

Frype Browser Game Development Conference

Last Thursday I attended in Frype organized conference for browser game developers. Obviously games make lot of income also for Frype, so they promote this as an exciting opportunity for game developers.

Frype taxes 50% of whatever game developer makes, for allowing to use portal users as game audience.

There are a number of successful games developed and published in Frype to show them as a good example, and encourage developers to make such a games to make an incredible money. But many more games just didn't conquer enough user sympathy and was not appealing enough to live for a period just to cover expenses spent for the game creation.

So in the near future, we can expect to see even more new games appearing in Frype.

In some european countries people not only celebrate their birthday, but also there is one special day in the year for their names. The event is called - name day. Event though, in my country inhabitants officially celebrate this day, i prefer to not. But, i can not change my friends, so i usually participate in their name days.

Last saturday my friend has one. So we headed to his town to celebrate. It was great party, and even though I can not truly understand the reason for celebrating name, i think this is one more reason to remeber about friends.

Recently I finished one Joomla based web page for Gaujiena Special Boarding School. The Boarding School is located in my home town, where I was born. This school serves children with special needs, such as hearing, seeing disabilities and/or learning disabilities. Also those, who are coming from adverse families

The site was build for minimum cost, and i spend a little more my free time, to make everything as usable as i could. Site also features some flash elements, and Google maps API.

I also did spend some time to create useful video help files, so that site administrator could understand everything in Joomla administration panel, which, in some cases, might otherwise be confusing.

Economic and culture Institute doors open day

This morning we went to Economic and culture Institute doors open day.

This institute provides I think 8 education programs. We were interested in Interior Design, and I, particularly, was also interested in Business Management. Business Management is 2 year master's degree program, for students, that has already graduated some university. This program is intended for those, willing to learn, how to manage their own businesses. Sound's like exactly for me.

Yes, but mainly today we focused on Interior Design studies. I must admit, it was best doors open day, I’ve ever been to. In the end, they also made lottery for everybody that came to this event, and winners got 5 flash 2GB memory cards, 2 Nokia Cell phones, and main prize - BMW car keys for one weekend.

Simply perfect, what else I can say.

New Businessmen Forum 2010

At very late Friday evening, 16.apr. 2010, event called "New Businessmen forum 2010" was held on Sapņu fabrika . The idea for this forum was originally made by Normunds Teteris. He thought that successful businessman could present their businesses for interested audience. Presenters would tell how their businesses started and developed over last few years. And all this could be done in Pecha Kucha like presentation style.

Pecha Kucha Night events consist of around a dozen presentations, each presenter having 20 slides, each shown for 20 seconds. Each presenter has just 6 minutes 40 seconds to explain their ideas before the next presenter takes the stage. (wikipedia)

So yea. I was there, and although overall impression was not bad, some of presentations looked more like a free advertisement for their businesses. Well, not actually *FREE*, because an audience has to pay a little entrance fee.

Mysterious skies

This Saturday afternoon, we went to the Baltic Sea at Jurmala. Unusual thing I noticed there was that sky right above our heads were with less saturation, as sky near the horizon. Usually near at horizon sky becomes less saturated, but this day everything was right oposite.

At first, we were unable to find explanation for this phenomena, but latter this day I found out that there was volcanic eruption in Iceland few days ago. And microscopic particles were forming considerable clouds over the Latvia skies, and this caused phenomena to happen.

So, yea… Unfortunately I did not take a good photo for you to see the difference.

In school chemistry probably in 8th grade there was a term Mole.

Mole is a unit and it measures number of molecules. One mole has 6.0221415×10²³ molecules in it.

And another term is molar mass. The molar mass of an element is the atomic weight in grams per mole. In other words molar mass states - how much does one mole of particular substance weight.

The molar mass for distilled water is 18 g/mol or converting to kg, it is 0,018 kg / mol.

So, now lets do some calculations.

First, let's calculate - how many moles of water there are in the glass.

Moles = mass / molar mass = 0,2 kg / (0,018 kg/mol) = 11.11 moles

And then, let's calculate how many molecules there are in the 11.11 moles

Number of molecules = number of mols * molecules in one moll = 11.11 * 6.0221415×10²³ = 66.912683 * 10²³

We can also rewrite the result in one long number like this:

Very often coders obfuscate the JavaScript files, removing tabs, whitespaces and change variables to meaningless letters, thus making it hard to read the code and understand the logic. The example is Google analytics code (ga.js). Most likely they obfuscated the code concerning the file size. Why human talking to phone like to draw on the paper?

Some people like to draw on paper while talking to phone. Isn't it strange? Why do they like to do such a thing, I asked my self. In my opinion, there are two reasons for that.

First, having pen or pencil in hand makes them feel more relaxed. Because usually when speaking to phone talker is receiving important information, and it might be necessary to put down some notes. May it be addresses, dates or hard-to-remember numbers. Also, it is verbal information talker receives, and as soon as words are said, they disappear. Adding down notes allows them more effectively follow conversations.

Second, one needs to focus attention on information that is received by ears and ears only. All other senses, meanwhile, must be ignored. And to avoid information that is presented by eyes and usually is unrelated to what conversation companion says, talker draws something very unrelated to the paper and looks at his work without a lot of interest. The received information must to be filtered, too, so occasionally when no important information is being received, talker keeps brain bussy by drawing something, but when important information is being received, talker immediately stop drawing and focuses all attention to ears.

Apollo new portal quick review

I had this wonderfull chance to test www.apollo.lv upcomming portal version. In this quick review I’ll start with some imperfections, and finish with some good words afterwards.

Probably the most notable and most visible drawback is that portal design lacks flexibility. I really like some competitor portals, mainly because their designs are fluid and takes advantage of higher screen resolutions. This is how new portal design looks at Full High Definition resolution.
The code is not W3C valid. Although this is not extremely important, it usually shows, that coder cares about the code he writes, and is able to follow standards.
I’ve tested portal loading performance for several times, and average complete site loading time was 10.5 seconds. So that could be faster. Latter site surfing performance is greatly improved when all of the files are loaded into browser cache, but still there are things to improve.
One thing is that all JavaScript files that are loaded from one domain should be packed in one file, thus extremely decreasing loading time, because major vast of time would be no more spent for just sending useless GET requests.

As you can see in these statistics, now JavaScript code is splited in multiple files:

Same holds true for *.css files
One last, similar technique to increase design loading speed is what’s called css spriting. It means, that all visual elements, such as borders, corners, backgrounds and buttons are stored into one *.jpg or *.gif file, and then using CSS, positioned accordingly. This technique has two major advantages. First – less files means faster loading. Second, jpg/gif compression is far more effective, because the same Huffman encoding table can be used for all images.

Here are a few positive things.

It was a positive surprise that Apollo is using HTTP compression. Although this is not a new feature in upcoming portal version, it is still worth to point out. I wish everybody used it.
Twitter account for Apollo is very cool. It shows that portal technical creators are following “web fashion”

That would be about it. I will certainly keep an eye to this portal evolution.

How to choose a good color palette

Colors are beautiful. The one who can not feel color made impressions, looses a lot. The colors and their internal relationships are very sensitive, and to find ones that look great together are very hard task to accomplish and only experienced artist can do that. Or maybe not? Today we will look through some of main color concepts which will let you find some nice color pairs or trios.

One thing that’s important to note is that one color alone is boring, and is not making an effect. The magic relies in their relationships.

You should start creating your palette by choosing two or three base colors from color wheel. Choosing more will lead in chaos. Choosing only one usually will be too boring. Of course there are cases, where using monotone is preferred, especially if you want to create a very relaxing atmosphere.

Here are two colors i like.

Here is online color wheel you can try out. If two colors are used as base, than it is a good idea to pick complimentary colors. Complimentary colors are colors that reside directly opposite to each other in color wheel. For example blue and yellow would be complimentary colors. If three colors are used, then try to pick them so that there are 120 degrees between each of them. Doing so will ensure that colors play with each other more intense.

So for example let’s assume we’ve picked two colors. This means that there will be two main actors in our play. Just like in movies. There is always a good, and bad, beautiful and ugly. The contrast is what makes movie interesting, right? Same principle stays true with colors. When base colors are picked the next thing to do is create variations of them, by adjusting saturation and brightness. Variations will allow separate information that is important, from background. Usually more saturation is used for things you want observer to first notice.

Again worth to mention here is that, changing one color will actually change all of them. Because colors are relative. Just like one amateurish and clumsy actor in movie with proffesionals can ruin whole movie charm, same can be said about one wrongly choosed color.

There is a lot more to write about colors of course, but I just want to point out some excelent resources. What does http-equiv stands for?

Many web developers uses meta http-equiv tag, without solid understanding what does it means.
http-equiv stands for: hypertext transfer protocol equivalent and is equivalent to HTTP response header.
So putting:

in HTML as meta TAG has the same effect as declaring HTTP response header

That is why they are called ‘equivalent’. It is recommended to use HTTP header over HTML http-equiv meta tags. Multiple headers with the same name may be present only if the values may be concatenated.

Software compatibility problems for Windows 7

Many times software developers for their product installation adds an OS version checks. OS version checks simply checks what version of OS user has, and in case their product is not fully tested on detected OS, installation is aborted.

As Windows 7 for now is realively new OS, many older software, released prior to Windows 7 was announced, refuses to run on Windows 7, although they could run perfecty well, but because of OS version check failure, software can not be installed.

To overcome this obsticle you need to simply run installation in compability mode. In most cases, what run on Windows Vista will run on Windows 7 as well.

Just right click installation file and select TroubleShoot compability. One such example is WinPcap.

Change interface language of Google webmaster

To change your Google webmaster interface language you need to set your browser language to whatever language is you need. Of course not the browser interface language, but the Accept-Language header browser sends.

So, for example, this HTTP request to Google webmaster will return a Swedish version

GET /webmasters/ HTTP/1.1
Host: www.google.com
Accept-Language: sv,lv;q=0.8,lv;q=0.6,lv;q=0.4,en;q=0.2

But this is going to return an English one

GET /webmasters/ HTTP/1.1
Host: www.google.com

Where to configure browser headers differs from browser to browser, but for chrome it is under Options->Change font and language settings.

I’m not sure that showing interface language based on headers is the best solution. I think much better would be if there was an option where to switch a language, just like it is for gmail.com.

Google webmaster and other Google product interface language

There is something that is driving me nuts about Google webmaster? It's that i can not change the interface language to English. No really, I’ve tried like a zillion times, but somehow I just can’t figure it out.

In Google products I always set English as my default language. I’ve even set that I live in U.K. so that Google do not dare to offer me Latvian. But somehow webmaster is different. It knows me. It knows me deep inside. It even scares me ;D.

The reason why I prefer English over Latvian is pretty simple though – when the specific words are being translated into Latvian, in most cases text become unreadable, and I constantly need to think – now what's that word would be in English.

Some examples include:

Noildze – delay;
Rādītājs - index;
Iesūtne - inbox;
Rāpuļprogramma - crawler;

Not only words are confusing, but in many cases translation is ambiguous too. It can easily be seen, that translator did not take context into account. And today I was exceptionally upset, because I wanted to see, why my site is not included in radītājs, even though rāpuļprogramma, was able to access my site.

So i clicked on help, and this is what i got:

“Sorry, no translation is available on your language, please view this English help page instead.”

And this English help page says “Please press settings, and than press manage my sites”. Well, I really would like to press Settings and Manage my sites, BUT I DON’T HAVE THEM. Instead I have “Iestatījumi” and “Vieņu pārvaldnieks”. When help got more complicated I decided to give up. Better luck some other day. Well basically I stopped problem solving because I know that angry people are less capable of reasoning.

PS: I always listen to positive music & think positive thoughts when working ;D

Nevertheless I must admit, that I love Google technologies. For example Google recently has announced a new GoogleMap API for flash with 3D support. So I instantly started to work with it – and it turns out to be very simple, yet powerful. Check this simple example. Look at these eggs. They are all with chicken shit. Now, I don’t mind to see that product is natural, but this thing is all over splashed with … you know – chicken shit. SHIT. Until now, whenever I bought eggs they always came clean. Unfortunately some sellers believe it is the way they can emphase that product is coming from nature. And another benefit for them is that they no longer need to wash their eggs before pack it and send it to stores. Who knows, maybe they even put some additional chicken shit on it. HAHA, but all this shit on it really disappointed me today, because it looks very fake. Like bad actor saying “I love you”, you know. It is absolutely incorrect that they allow all those shits be put on the shelf near other products. Who knows how many bacteria are there.

ASUS F5GL Install XP problem

This weekend I played around with newly bought ASUS F5GL.

Intel Core Duo Т2390;
15.4″ WXGA;
2048 MB RAM DDR2;
NVIDIA GeForce 8200;
250 GB SATA HDD;
Integrated LAN, WiFi, Bluetooth, WEB cam and VGA out.

Vista and Windows 7 installed like a charm, but XP and Knoppix initially refused to work on this system. Knoppix just silently hanged somewhere in the middle, but XP ended up with ~~BoSD~~ BSoD as soon as installation files were copied and setup should began. It threw out a message, that "A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer." And this is what you will get always if you try to install XP SP2 with default BIOS settings to ASUS F5GL. To resolve this issue you whether need to set SATA operational mode from Enhanced to Compatible in BIOS, or install drivers that will allow SATA host controller to use Enhanced mode. Enhanced mode is not all that useful as it sounds, so in most cases I recommend just to switch back to older Compatible mode. However if you need such exotic features such as hot-plugging you can update drivers as well, it is not that hard after all.

Humans are not nor meant, nor designed to work. Human always tends to seek for shortcuts, and how to do work with less effort. Some of tasks are completely ignored because of our inherited laziness. While our bodies are capable to accomplish minor exercises, much greater things can be accomplished only using technologies.

Humans are not designed to work - humans are designed to invent.

A lot of jobs today are completely unnecessary, and should be eliminated for the goodness of human race and civilization it composes. All of unnecessary jobs can be divided into two categories.

First category of unnecessary jobs.

Jobs that can be completely replaced by technologies. Microprocessors are cheap today. And it is quite easy to implement any logic and high level complexity algorithms into mechanisms, that will do the exercises. This include jobs such as: sellers, knitters, house/office cleaners, barmans, builders, millers, confectioners, bakers and many others. All of these could be replaced by technology which will work 100% precisely, 100% honestly and what's most important - for free.

Second category of unnecessary jobs.

Jobs that will loose their relevance as soon as technologies will take over first category. You see - as soon as technologies will work for humanity and humans will not need to worry on how to make money for living, but instead will focus on - how to keep increasing use of technologies to make it more effective and more nature friendly a lot of jobs will loose their relevance. First - all that is related to advertising. Second - all that is related to politics and some degree of legislation as well. Third - all that is related to crime enforcement and military.

At the moment when these jobs will be replaced by technology - art and design will experience it's prosperity as never before.

It can be easily installed, and do not require any programming skills. Today, Outbrain has become one more language richer -i.e. Latvian.

It took about a month from the moment I send them translations to the moment when it was implemented to the system.

I still wonder, how people can invest time and money to create such a rating system and not asking money for that.

Similarities.

Both of them are statements based on observations, that seem to be true, but have not been proved or disproved jet.

Differences.

As explained in G.Pólya and L.Bowden book "Mathematical methods in science", difference is in level of credibility that explanation is based on. Hypothesis is testable, and explanation is based on accepted grounds. Conjecture is proposition based on inconclusive grounds, and sometimes can not be fully tested.

Another difference is that conjectures, unlike hypothesis, are used in math. Hypothesis usualy are used elsewhere. If conjecture is proven, it becomes a theorem. Still, the border between two terms remains blurry, and terms sometimes are used as synonyms. For example in math there is a conjecture called 'Riemann hypothesis', which correctly should be called ‘Riemann conjecture’.

And eventually small portion of all this light hits earth surface causing the earth to grow.

Obviously after many, many years earth mass will be bigger, and thus the gravity it causes also will be bigger. So the very same 1 kg you own now will be heavier on planet earth.

If i had some free time i would really like to do some math here. For example, what my 1 kg of gold will weight after say - 1 000 years. Should'n be to complicated. Maybe You want to try?

Update:

No actually i was wrong. 1 kg gold will still be1 kg gold even if gravity changes. Because there is a standart for 1 kg, see picture below. It is located in France in International Bureau of Weights and Measures.

If gravity changes, than standart will be heavier as well. Maybe if you will use electronic balance, than they will show that your gold is heavier, but than again - than the electronic balace will be just incorrect.

Impossible triangle, in business, is triangle that describes any good or service that is provided by any company. And it states that three values Quality, Speed and Price can not all be combined into one offer. One MUST be sacrificed.

Either product will be delivered fast and in good quality, but it will cost more. Either it will be in good quality, cheep, but it will be delivered in ordinary time. Or maybe it will be fast, cheep but the quality will be sacrificed.

I heard, from one harward's graduate, this is what they learn in first semester, in business school.

What is the color of mirror?

The reason why mirror reflects all of the light beams in the same angle as light beams hit mirror surface is because mirrors are perfectly flat. And because all light reflects from mirror maintaining it's original angle, image is perfectly reflected and reconstructed.

All objects absorbs all light waves that hits it, except the lightwaves with color into which an object is itself. For example EU flag will absorb green, red, pink, orange, etc., but will reflect blue light waves. One exception needs to be mentioned here. There is no corresponging lightwave for black color and white color. Human eye indicates that object is white, if object reflects (or emits) all possible visible light waves. And in contrast black is indicated if there is no lightwaves.

Mirrors are manufactured out of aluminium. Aluminiums is used because of it's suitable physical properties, and because it is almost white. Yes, aluminium is not perfect. It would be more better if aluminum was white. If you look carefully in the picture above you will see that the light that is reflected from mirror is a little bit bluish. And that is true for all mirrors.

Conclusion! The mirror is made of aluminium, and thus the color of mirror is the same as color of aluminium.

This movie is about crime, love and unchangable destiny.

As far as I can tell - one of my favorite movies, with an excelent scenario, keeping attention tense until the very last minute of the movie. I've never seen Brendan Fraser playing so expresive and spectacular as in this movie ever before. He performs rough blackmailer working for his boss (Andy Garcia), known as finger-man because he collects fingers from his debtors, who can not pay their debts. Brandon Fraser works for him, because he can see the future, and thus is invincible in any fight. And Sarah Michelle Gellar perform a new singer, kind of naive and stubborn, adding an interesting contrast to all story. If you really want to receive most of this movie, then i should stop here now. Adding a cold water to tea

This morning i was making a tea. I heated up the water, till it started to boil. Usually instead of filling full cup with very hot water, i fill only half, because the rest i fill with cold water, so the tea is not so hot.

At the moment, when hot water was poured into the cup, i decided to go to check my email. And then suddenly curious question popped up into my mind.

Curious question: In which case the tea will be hotter?

If I add a cold water and go for 5 minutes to check my mail
or
If I go and check my mail for 5 minutes, and when returned, add a cold water

The answer is not obvious. Because in first case difference between hot tea and room air is greater, and thus energy will flow faster away from the cup. And on the other hand, in the second case the surface between tea and air is greater, so again it means that energy flows faster away.

I did a few calculations to find the answer.

It turns out that it is very important what shape is your cup is in. And also the temperature of cold water may affect the answer. But if you have a cup made out of glass 10cm high, 8cm in diameter, 4mm tight borders, the temperature of hot tea is 70º C, cold water temperature is 15º C, room air temperature is 17º C, then if you add water before you go check email, than cup of tea will loose exactly 17.6% less energy than if you add cold water latter on.

Conclusion. In most cases, if you add water earlier to the tea, you keep your tea hotter, than if you add it latter.

Others worth mention would be Joomla and WordPress.

There are two ways actually to create a Drupal based web page.

Easy way. No programming skills required. Download drupal from the drupal.org. Extract contents onto your server public_html directory. Launch www.yourdomain.com/install.php and follow the instructions provided. After installation successfully completes: the following things can be performed

- Adding a content to web site

- Installing additional modules, wich can be downloaded from drupal module download page

- Choose from existing themes from drupal theme page

Advanced way

At heart drupal contains a very a flexible module system. Module system not only provides scaleability, but also code reusability and structured manner into which the whole system is developed. And because developers share their modules, it really speeds up web site development. Because it's like code reusing among whole community. Code sharing also improves developers coding skills.

To create a module, developer must follow Drupal api. API documentation is pretty stright forward and well explained.

If you are like me, then time to time you wish there would be a site www.what-is-the-difference.com, where you could find the key differences between all two similar terms. Sometimes it's driving me nutts, when i know the deffinitions of both terms, but still i can't tell the difference.

Today again i stubled against the question - what is the difference between software architecture and design pattern. So - it turns out the answer is as follows.

"Software archecture is used in more abstract sense, talking about components of software and relationships between them, whereas programming design pattern is a programming style which might be used by programmer to achieve some particular benifit".

Most of the times the benifit programmer gains is reduced complexity and scaleability.

It is a bit of lounge, bit of Soul, bit of Latin and downtempo jazz.

sin(pi/2)=infinity/infinity

So i have a problem here. I will probably answer myself to this question after some time, but anyways i will post it here.

So folow the logic i have here.

In picture you can see right-angled triangle. Let angle between c1 and h be α. Then c2/h = sin(α) . If α increases then so do length of c2 and length of h. If α=90 degrees then c2 is with infinity length, and so is h=infinity.

so we get that sin(pi/2) = infinity/infinity, which should be undefined, but it is 1. Why?

Mental abilities getting older

Today i discovered an excelent google tech talk presentation made by Dr. Michael Merzenich. The title of presentation was "Think faster focus better and remember more. Rewiring our brain to stay younger...". He himself is 66, and not showing any of mental regress (:. Especially i liked the presentation, and the way he got himself out in situation where the slides were missing (:.

Yea.. however. The numbers and diagrams he showed about the results of methodology he presented was just outstanding. I always was concern that when you get older, body as well as mind will loose the grip. But he prooved the opposite.

As we live in information technology era which is changing very rapidly, i was kind of woried about my living when i will be 60. Will i be able to follow? And the answer is - yes. Brain is very adaptive. And actually today's and future's information technology, wide information availability and the way we do information processing, is excelent for keeping our mind sharp all life long. But of course, chance is only half of goal. You still need to work on it.

Next, i will list 4 the things that are necessary for brain functionality. It is a quick excerpt of more hour and a half presentation Dr. Michael Merzenich made.

1. Food (vegetables, fruits, cropper)

2. Physical training (at least 10min a day)

3. Social activities (close friends)

4. Brain gym (games like puzzles, books, etc)

So, these four are preventive actions you need to take during your life. However when you get older with these four is not enough!!!

The thing that really matters is - keep understand new things. As Einstain said several times while he lived - "never stop questioning". Ask your self different quiestions about everydays simple things, and try to answer. Go in details, because details is what we remeber.

The world is huge enough to keep you busy for all life long. Learn to play a music instrument. If you do play already, then pick another one. Or try to learn new language. Try speculate in stock ecxchange. Try some of mathematics. Choose your own. Any action that requires huge amount of processing is good. Controlling your body muscles in precise manner is also a good brain activity.

It is necesary your brain to discover new things. That you learn a thing, and understand that you just learned a new thing, and increased your performance. That is signal for brain to speed up the processing.

It's also a good idea to take activities you have never done in your life before. Something completly different. Because with new actions you are able to learn new things more quickly.

These days, it's like everybody is doing SEO. Everyone is SEO expert or something. Well, it is ok if somebody is cleaning up the xHTML code and marking the important parts of semantics. But i recently discovered that there are lots of so called SEO experts who are selling information about "How to optimize web pages for search engines", they find with quick search in google itself. And then tooOrganisations who are not very familiar with IT, they sell this pdf crap for 100eur, and call it - 'SEO analysis for XYZ Inc web page'. And in the end - the document was not good written, simply copying and pasting the information about seo optimisation did not reach any of targeted goals.
